<body><h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-right">Morning Routine That Balances Kids, Business, and Self-Care</h2><p class="">Let’s be real: mornings can either make or break your entire day—especially when you’re balancing motherhood, running a business, and trying to prioritize your health and mental clarity. For a long time, I felt like I was waking up already behind. Sound familiar?</p><p class="">After a lot of trial and error (and missed breakfasts), I created a morning routine that <em>actually</em> works for my life—not some Instagram-perfect version. Wake Up Before the House (When Possible)</h3><p class="">I aim to wake up <strong>at least 30 minutes before my kids</strong>, giving me a window to center myself before the noise starts. It doesn’t always happen—and that’s okay—but when it does, my day feels completely different.</p><p class="">This time is used for:</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li class="">Light stretching or breathwork</li>

<li class="">Sipping warm water or tea</li>

<li class="">Reviewing my daily planner</li>

Mental Check-In + Planner Time</h3><p class="">Before checking email or social media, I sit down with my planner and ask:</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li class="">What <em>must</em> get done today?</li>

<li class="">What can wait?</li>

<li class="">What would make today feel good?</li></ol><p class="">Even just jotting this down clears mental clutter. I also log how I’m feeling emotionally and physically—this helps me adjust expectations if I’m feeling low-energy or anxious.</p><p class="">ð¡ Use the <strong>NOTES</strong> section in my planner to check in on yourself without judgment.</p><hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"><h3 class="wp-block-heading">𥣠3. A Real (Simple) Breakfast</h3><p class="">No more grabbing random carbs and calling it good. I prep a few options in advance so I can grab and go. Some go-to’s:</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li class="">Overnight oats with chia and almond butter</li>

<li class="">Scrambled eggs with spinach</li>

Kid Wake-Up + Connection Time</h3><p class="">Once the kids are up, I try to be present for at least 10–15 minutes of intentional connection. Even if we’re brushing teeth and making beds, I’m fully there—no phone, no laptop. It helps reduce meltdowns (theirs and mine).</p><hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"><h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð§¼ 5. Quick Cleanup + 5-Minute Reset</h3><p class="">After breakfast, I do a quick reset:</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li class="">Dishes out of the sink</li>

<li class="">Wipe counters</li>

<li class="">Start a load of laundry</li>

<li class="">Light a candle or diffuser</li></ol><p class="">This gives the illusion of calm, which surprisingly translates to actual calm for me.</p><hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"><h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð» 6. Begin Focused Work</h3><p class="">I start work with one focused task (NOT email). I choose it the night before using the “Top 3 Priorities” section in my planner.
